Grief, Grace, and Gratitude – A Monthly Support Group

Details
This is a safe and compassionate group space for individuals experiencing the profound sorrow that comes with the loss of a loved one.
In recognizing that grief does not have a timeline, this group is dedicated to offering support, understanding, and a sense of community and connection to long-term grievers and those who are newly bereaved.
We gather to support one another through deep listening, meaningful witnessing of one another, and facilitated conversation.
We cultivate a compassionate community where individuals share their grief stories, witness each other’s pain, and offer comfort and companionship on the healing journey.
Participants have opportunities to explore and deepen their spiritual connections, integrating personal spiritual perspectives into their healing process.
By supporting one another, we enhance our own awareness and wisdom, and foster greater understanding both within and beyond the group.
Benefits for Participants:
• Experience a Safe Environment: Share your story and express your feelings freely, knowing you will be met with understanding and non-judgmental, compassionate support.
• Build Connections: Establish meaningful connections with others to reduce the isolation that often accompanies grief.
• Gain Insight: Understand common myths about grief and typical grief patterns through shared experiences and discussions.
• Explore Grieving Tools: Gain tools and experience opportunities to navigate the complexities of grief, fostering a sense of hope and forward momentum.
• Develop Coping Skills: Learn new coping skills, relaxation techniques, stress management, and daily survival skills that others have found effective. Helping each other brings strength, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose and meaning.
The group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Unity Sanctuary. The fee is $25 (with a sliding scale, so no one is turned away for lack of funds). Please pay at the door with cash or check.
