Hi BUG! This month we're excited to be joined by Mark Mayers, who will be discussing his work on developing a Custom Scriptable Render Pipeline for the game Desolus.

About the Talk
Take a deep dive into the various graphics programming and shader techniques which contribute to the unique gameplay and visual style of Desolus. The talk includes an overview of the game's lighting, shadows, particles, reflections, and post-processing, as well as a look at effects such as the game's portals and black holes. Discover how the use of Scriptable Render Pipeline can help graphics programmers achieve advanced effects which may be impossible to create in Unity's own Universal or High Definition Render Pipelines.

About the Speaker
Mark Mayers is a game designer creating Desolus, an atmospheric puzzle game where you explore a city of Gothic architecture torn between multiple universes. Mark has also worked as a gameplay and graphics programmer on titles such as Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, and Manifold Garden. Although he currently resides in Seattle, he is a Bostonian at heart and an active member of the Boston Independent Games community.
