uScript & Special Guest Appearance by the Creator of the Omni

Are you a game designer or artist looking to create your own game, but you don't know how to program?

This month we'll explore the visual scripting tool, uScript, an editor plugin available through the Unity asset store that could help you create your next game and limit the need for coding.

We will also have some time for you to share your game in progress!

Just in.... Jan Goetgeluk, founder of Virtuix, creator of the Omni, just wrapped up their highly successful Kickstarter campaign which raised over $1M for their company.

The Omni represents an entirely new game interaction for players as they will now be able to literally run around in your games, using the Omni and omnidirectional treadmill.

Come hear how this exciting Texas based company is making virtual reality a richer, more rewarding experience.

And come hear the possibilities for you as a Unity developer!

FYI, 5 weeks left to submit an entry to the Unity contest: http://ryanjoy.com/2013/08/unity-contest-windows-8-windows-phone-8/

Games, education and training apps, advertising and visualization content, even interactive art can be submitted. This contest is open to ALL Unity developers, whether you are a registered Unity Pro dev or if you use the free version of Unity.

I'm interested to see how uScript compares to PlayMaker. I usually prefer C#, but visual scripting with state machines can be really useful in certain contexts, especially when working with designers with less programming experience.

    Looking forward to the presentation!

I will be taking a Unity scripting class at ACC starting this fall. I am really bad at scripting but am determined to learn Unity Script. What is it that you guys do at these meetings? I am interested in attending these meetings but I'm not sure if it's the right group for me since I am a Unity noobie/beginner. Should I wait until I start my classes and get some basics under my belt? Just curious. Any response to this would be greatly appreciated. :)

Robert thank you for your reply. Donald, the course at ACC is offered at the Northridge campus every semester. It is titled "Game Scripting" and there are two classes this fall (16 week class and a 12 week class) but both are full up. The course description doesn't explain a lot but I am including a link to it. The game scripting class teaches students unity script in the unity engine. It is part of the Game Design program at ACC under the Game Design Institute (GDI). I see that Finn Staber is a part of this group and he would probably be able to tell you more about it. Anyway, here is the link: http://www3.austincc....
