un-meetup Feb.2019 (former ReactJS)

Details

Hi Folks,

I'm happy to present the very first engineering un-meet-up on the 12.02. at 18:30. For those who aren't familiar with this, let me start with a brief intro.

In 2016, we started with ReactJS and for 2 years we accomplished a lot, we brought all of you together multiple times. In 2018, with the support from some startups, we founded the first un{code}ference in Tirol. The results were amazing, so we thought to merge all these ideas in a series of self-organized engineering events called un-meet-up & un{code}ference. And here we are, promoting the first un-meet-up.

Before going into the topics, you might ask yourself, alright but…

  1. What about ReactJs?
ReactsJS was simply the start, and we will continue bringing React talks in many of the events, together with many other FE related topics.

  2. Am I still interested?
if you like development, if you like engineering topics such as: AI, ML, DeepLearning, BigData, DBs, WebServices, Angular, React, Vue, Functional Programming, APIs, GraphQL, AWS and many other engineering topics, then hell yeah, you will be interested in this.

  3. What is really an “unmeetup”?
I think the best way to get into the whole idea is visiting our brand-new GitHub repo where all the magic happens: https://github.com/uncodeference/unmeetup
==> IMPORTANT: Feel free to contribute! Here you can propose talks and tell us anything you think that can be improved via "GitHub issues".

------- Meet up -------

Date: 12.02.2019 (Tuesday) at 18:30

Name: Marcel Ritter
Topic: Eye tracking analysis via F# ⚡
Abstract:
Notes on an ongoing practical project for plotting, analyzing, classifying, and manual correction of high-resolution eye tracking data with application in Neurology. Concepts, implementation, tools/libraries, and algorithms are shortly presented.

Name: Bernhard Mayr
Topic: Trapped in the wrong sense of safety - How developers can safely feel safe.
Proposal link: https://github.com/uncodeference/unmeetup/issues/2
Abstract:
Currently studying psychology and working part-time as a software architect really made me rethink the way we actually develop. Also moving into the alps made me want to write and architect my code as safe as possible, so that I don't have to think about it when I'm skiing or out with my friends. In this talk I will mainly show technologies and techniques for writing better code as well as a better way of writing code. I try to combine psychology, mathematics (FP stuff) and software engineering mostly in live-coding using examples as close to the real world as possible. Be prepared for some type magic, awesome dev tools and a bit of interdisciplinary psychology.

Name: Juan Luis Vicci & Bernhard Mayr
Topic: What's this un-meet-up thing?
Abstract:
What is an “unmeetup”? Why did we start this? Where does it come from? What can it be? What do we want it to be? How can you help? It's our first un-meet-up, so for sure we going to have a few things to explain and discuss. Juan and Bernhard will present you the "unmeetup-idea" and would love to discuss where the un-meet-up should head to, as it's called "The "crowd-organized" software engineering meetup based in Tirol, Austria." See you there! :)

We are looking forward seeing you again!

Best
un-meet-up-team

PD: Please write us a message or open a GitHub Issue with any feedback and thoughts, your support is important for us to improve this project and create better events for the community.
