📍 meeting point
Budapest-Nyugati railway station 8:45 am.

We'll meet at 8:45 and take the 9:08 train to Zebegény, arriving at 9:57. To sit together on the train, it's a good idea to arrive on time, or a little earlier.

🥾 the hike
~8.7 km ~454 m elevation gain / ~459 m descent.
We'll start hiking around 10:00 am and walk at a moderate pace, around 3 - 3.5 hours including breaks.

We'll start in Zebegény, make our way up to Kálvária-domb and the Kós Károly kilátó, continue towards the Julianus kilátó on Hegyes-tető. From there we'll pass the Gánti kilátóhely before descending towards Nagymaros.

The Kós Károly kilátó offers views over Zebegény, the Danube and the Pilis, while the Julianus kilátó gives us a wider panorama over the Danube Bend.

🚆 transportation
8:45 meeting → 09:08 train → 09:57 arrival in Zebegény → ~10:00 start hiking → 14:11 train → 14:54 arrival in Budapest-Nyugati

We'll finish at Nagymaros-Visegrád railway station and aim to catch the 14:11 train back to Budapest-Nyugati, arriving at 14:54.

Depending on our pace, we may have some time before the train to walk down to the Danube in Nagymaros, enjoy the view, or grab a coffee ☕️

🎒 bring
◦ A Pest County Pass or a valid train ticket. A Budapest Pass alone is not valid for the full journey, so you'll need to buy a train ticket (1.120 HUF) if you don't have a Pest County Pass.
◦ At least 1L of water
◦ Sandwich or some food for lunch
◦ Comfortable clothes & walking shoes for nature
