What we’re about

Hallo Unreal Community!

Every two months, relaxed meetups with snacks and drinks take place in the west of Stuttgart, where everyone who already works with the Unreal Engine or is interested in interactive media, virtual production and game design is welcome. The aim of the meetup is to improve local networking in Stuttgart and to exchange information about technical innovations, tips and tricks in the Unreal ecosystem. The event will be multilingual, with any presentations held in English. There will also be enough space for all participants to bring their own projects / workstations to the event to receive feedback on their projects during testing.

    ## Unreal in Engineering, Automotive HMI & CAD Workflows

Unreal Engine has quietly become a serious industrial tool: from high-fidelity CAD visualization and VR design reviews to production-ready automotive HMI prototyping. If you’re in engineering or automotive—especially in the Mittelstand—this meetup is designed to be practical: real pipelines, real constraints, and what actually works in day-to-day product development.
Expect a short, focused evening with three expert talks and plenty of time to network with engineers, product teams, innovation leads, and Unreal creators working on industrial use cases. As always, there will be both meat and vegetarian dishes, as well as a selection of drinks. Participation is free, register early to secure your spot!
The event is powered by the "NEW.STUTTGART" initiative !
Topic: How Unreal Engine is used in Engineering, Automotive HMI and CAD workflows
Date: Wednesday, Feb 4 (Reinsburgstraße 96/1, 70197 Stuttgart, Germany)
    Format: Talks + Q&A + networking

    ## Why this matters for industrial teams

    • Cut iteration time between design, validation, and stakeholder alignment
    • Bring CAD into real-time without killing fidelity, metadata, or performance
    • Prototype next-gen automotive UX/HMI with visuals and interactivity that traditional tooling struggles to match
    • Connect engineering data with immersive experiences across teams and locations

    ## Talks & Speakers

    ### 1) Arjun Rai Gupta — Virtual Dimension Center (VDC), Fellbach

About VDC: The Virtual Dimension Center (VDC) is a major German XR network and competence center focused on VR/AR, virtual worlds, and cooperative engineering—supporting companies with know-how, technology transfer, projects, and events.
Talk focus: A big-picture introduction: how Unreal is showing up in industrial contexts (engineering + automotive), and how initiatives like CyberLÄND support collaboration, knowledge transfer, and cross-company innovation in immersive tech.

    ### 2) Christian Stein — Threedy (instant3Dhub)

About Threedy: Threedy builds instant3Dhub, a platform for high-performance access to complex 3D/CAD data—aimed at scalable industrial visualization, collaboration, and workflow automation.
Talk focus: CAD → Unreal without pain. Threedy will show how their Unreal Plugin streams complex CAD models into Unreal without preprocessing or simplification, while keeping engineering context/metadata—enabling design review and collaboration workflows that stay connected to your “single source of truth.”

    ### 3) Jouni Leino — Siili Auto (Siili)

About Siili Auto: Siili Auto focuses on automotive HMI development and innovation, working with platform partners like Qt, Android Automotive, Unity, Unreal, and Kanzi—and is an Unreal Engine Gold Service Partner.
Talk focus (Jouni’s session): “Our journey with Unreal Engine” — how real-time 3D is reshaping automotive experiences: in-car interfaces, visualization tools, and next-gen UX. The talk will share practical insights from Siili Auto’s work at the intersection of design, software, and high-end rendering—plus what it takes to integrate Unreal into real automotive pipelines.

    ## Who should attend

This meetup is especially relevant for:

    • Engineering leaders, CAD/PLM owners, digitalization teams
    • Automotive HMI / UX teams, UI developers, system architects
    • Innovation managers, simulation/VR teams, product owners
    • Unreal developers interested in industrial and automotive projects

    ## What you’ll take home

    • Concrete patterns for CAD data in Unreal (fidelity, metadata, performance)
    • How teams shorten the design-to-validation loop with real-time 3D
    • What “production-ready” automotive HMI with Unreal looks like in practice
    • New contacts: industrial peers, solution providers, and Unreal specialists

If you’re exploring Unreal Engine beyond entertainment—for engineering workflows, CAD-based review, or automotive HMI—join us on Feb 4. Bring your current challenge or pipeline question; we’ll have time for Q&A and networking.
