Inaugural Meetup and Book Nomination Night

This is the first meetup for The Unreliable Narrators, a fiction-focused book club built around curiosity, conversation, and community.

This inaugural meeting is a low-pressure introduction. No assigned reading. We’ll meet, get to know each other, talk briefly about the kinds of fiction we enjoy, and nominate books for our first official read. Meetup free only allows 10 attendees, but we can accommodate more.

How the group works
We meet monthly in person. One meeting to select the book, one meeting to discuss it. Members nominate books, the group votes, and everyone gets a turn over time. Discussion here is less about declaring whether a book is “good” and more about exploring why it worked, or didn’t, for different readers.

Venue and atmosphere
We’ll be meeting in a relaxed, conversation-friendly space. We meet in person to build connection. The goal is a comfortable environment where conversation comes first. If you enjoy fiction, thoughtful discussion, and meeting people who value curiosity over certainty, this is a great place to start.
