Trolley tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery + Velvet Freeze

Let's take a trolley tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum!

We'll learn about the architecture and some of the famous people buried during the cemetery's 175-year history as well as enjoy the extensive horticulture. Our tour guide will be Dan Fuller, who will provide you with all kinds of historical tidbits along the way.

After the tour, we'll cool down with some ice cream on a quick visit to the last remaining Velvet Freeze, just a few minutes up the road at 7355 W Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63136.

Tickets: $18. Seating is limited. To participate, you must purchase a ticket on Meetup (using PayPal).

Trolley info: The Trolley is climate-controlled, but weather-appropriate clothing is suggested, as you may wish to disembark at different stops along the tour.

Accessibility: Most of the tour will be via a motorized trolley, although there will be stops where you can disembark to view the burials, take photos, and learn more about the site. The trolley is wheelchair accessible, but please let the organizer, Jackie Dana, know in advance if you have a wheelchair.

Directions: From I-70, take Exit 245B for West Florissant Avenue. Proceed northwest on West Florissant for 0.7 miles to the cemetery’s main entrance, which will be on the right, just after Shreve Avenue and before Kingshighway.

Weather: The tour will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, all tickets will be refunded, and we will reschedule for another date.
