All TaiChi styles are welcome!!!! Over the years, Karin has been happy to meet practitioners of many different styles and has benefited from meeting them. The art of Tai Chi Chuan is vast and varied and we seek to experience it in its fullness (or is it emptiness?).
This class is very much a beginner class (also with chair option) and mostly a QiGong practice with building some Tai Chi foundations, as well as one 6 mins standardized Yang Tai Chi 24 practice at the end.
This class cannot teach the form but is a good way to practice the form at least once a week with a group. Beginners do not need to stay for the advanced form practice while at the same time advanced practitioners are welcome to only join just for the Yang 24 form practice at 10:45am
....and sometimes there is an extra hour of advanced study/practice time happening, but that will only be announce in the YMCA itself.
The extra hour from 11am to 12noon will be used to practice more standardized 24 form and sometimes based on participants request also the traditional advanced Yang Tai Chi "long hand" 85, 104, 105 or 108 form (too many different names and counts for this form). Both forms are practiced with traditional music and movement announcements only. Even though there might be some more instruction on specific form moves, the complete traditional form cannot be learnt within this class. Please find other YMCAs up North and West of Seattle where you can learn the traditional advanced form with Stefanie Russell.

Every week on Thursday until February 2, 2027
