    WHY GO?
    Experience Finnish Lapland 🎄✨
Step into a real-life winter wonderland this winter as Finnish Lapland transforms into a snowy fairytale. Imagine gliding through frozen forests on a husky sled, racing across sparkling trails on a snowmobile, and gazing up at the sky as the Northern Lights paint their magical colors above you. With long polar nights, December offers some of the best chances to witness this breathtaking natural spectacle.
The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, has inspired wonder for thousands of years—appearing in ancient cave paintings and living on in legends across cultures. Here in Lapland, you’ll have the chance to experience it in one of the world’s most enchanting settings.
Lapland is also about traditions and warmth. Discover Sami culture at reindeer farms, explore local handicrafts, and embrace the spirit of the Arctic people. And of course, no trip to Lapland is complete without a visit to Rovaniemi—the official hometown of Santa Claus. From festive markets to the Santa Claus Village, the winter holiday charm here is unforgettable.

WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR THIS TRIP?
Day 1: Arrival & Northern Lights Hunt
Arrive in Kittila, where you will meet your community leader and fellow travelers at Kittilä Airport or directly at the accommodation. After settling in and preparing for the adventure ahead, the evening begins with your very first Northern Lights hunting tour, offering a magical introduction to Lapland. Overnight stay in Sodankyla for the next 4 nights.
Day 2: Roadtrip to Northern Lapland (Inari & Ivalo)
Today is dedicated to a full-day scenic road trip of about 500 km through Lapland’s pristine wilderness. The journey takes you through Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, where snow-covered forests and frozen lakes set a breathtaking backdrop. In Inari, enjoy a guided visit to the Sami Parliament and gain insights into the culture of Lapland’s indigenous people. Continue to Lake Inari, completely frozen in December, where you can walk on the ice and capture stunning photographs. Explore Ivalo village with options like reindeer sledding or snowshoeing, and stop at scenic spots such as the Tolosjoki River and Paatsjoki Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a Northern Lights viewing session at remote Lake Inari, far from light pollution. Overnight stay in Levi.
Day 3: Roadtrip to Rovaniemi & Santa Claus Village
This morning, travel from Levi to Rovaniemi, a two-hour drive of 170 km. The highlight of the day is a visit to Santa Claus Village, where you can meet Santa himself, cross the Arctic Circle, send postcards from Santa’s Post Office, and enjoy a traditional reindeer sleigh ride. Next, experience Snowman World, a magical snowy playground filled with slides and ice fun. In the evening, head out to Ounasvaara Fell, a scenic hill just outside Rovaniemi, for another chance to witness the Aurora Borealis under expansive Arctic skies. Overnight stay in Levi.
Day 4: Activities in Sodankylä & Levi
Spend the day diving into the authentic culture, history, and adventures of Lapland. Visit Tankavaara Gold Village to learn about Lapland’s gold rush and even try your hand at indoor gold panning. Head into the snowy wilderness on a snowshoeing adventure or experience a reindeer safari that showcases Sami traditions. For adventure seekers, Levi Ski Resort offers excellent slopes for skiing and snowboarding, while snowmobiling and husky sledding provide exhilarating ways to explore the Arctic landscapes. If visiting during Christmas, you’ll also have the chance to explore the Luvattumaa Ice Hotel & Snow Village, beautifully carved from snow and ice. Overnight stay in Levi.
    Day 5: Departure Day
After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and transfer to Kittilä Airport for your onward journey. With new memories of snowy adventures, cultural experiences, and magical Aurora nights, it’s time to say goodbye to Finnish Lapland—until the next adventure together.

    ### WHY GO?

Mountains, sea and wonderful bliss moments combined with a particularly beautiful, Mediterranean natural backdrop – hiking on Mallorca has a special magic. On our hiking trip along the GR221 hiking trail, you will hike across the sunny Balearic island from Estellencs in the southwest to Port Soller in the North West.
Views onto/from the coast you cannot get enough of, the alpine-like Tramuntana mountains, the citrus fruit in the idyllic SĂłller-valley & lots more. Coastal villages such as DeiĂ  and Valldemossa are also located en route as well as monasteries, extensive country estates, fincas and renowned coastal towns. Fragrant macchia, evergreen and holly oak forests providing shade, inquisitive sheep and mountain goats accompany you along with a lovely sea breeze and the scent of the many lemon and orange groves on this route of dry stone walls.

    ### WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

    • GR221 Trail (Dry Stone Route): This famous walk runs from south-west all the way to the north-west of Mallorca, following ancient cobbled paths through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. On this trail you hike the mountain range parallel to the coast of Mallorca and the trail alternates with sections through forests and barren rocks.
    • Explore SĂłller: Soller and its port, Puerto de Soller, is the heart of the "Golden Valley" - a fertile stretch of land in the Serra de Tramuntana whose inhabitants have cultivated olives since ancient times and became wealthy in the 18th century cultivating citrus fruits. In 2011 Soller was granted UNESCO World Heritage status.
    • Explore Port de SĂłller: The remote picturesque, small coastal village in north west Mallorca has become well known and popular particularly due to its historic tram, large bay with protected harbour and scenic surroundings.
    • Historic Tramway (TranvĂa de SĂłller) from Port de Soller to SĂłller: A major attraction on Mallorca's west coast is the famous historic tram which connects the small town of SĂłller with the Port de SĂłller district on the Mediterranean coast. It is colloquially referred to as "red lightning".
    • Historic Train from Soller to Palma: Tren de SĂłller is a historic railway line that opened in 1912, which connects the island's capital, Palma de Mallorca with the small town of SĂłller in the Serra de Tramuntana. A ride on the historic Tren de SĂłller railway with its vintage carriages still in use, provides a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a variety of views of the fascinating mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. Watch the video providing more details on this train journey and you'll get an idea of all that awaits you in an unforgettable experience.
    • Discovering picturesque towns & villages on the hiking trail: Explore the towns of Estellencs, an oasis of peace, tranquillity and tradition, Banyalbafur nestled between four smaller mountains, with farmhouses and wineries scattered around the historic town centre, Fornalutx nestled high up the Tramuntana mountain range overlooking SĂłller that is Often referred to as the ‘Prettiest village in Spain’, the stone buildings and red tiled roofs combine with the scent of the surrounding orange and lemon groves to provide a traditional rustic charm.
    • Explore Palma de Mallorca: The so-called " Pearl of the Mediterranean" is now more beautiful than ever and the Mediterranean flair, which attracts thousands of tourists every year, can be felt in every corner. Some of the top attractions include La Seu - the local name for Palma Cathedral - and the 14th-century Bellver Castle.
