WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

  • Rakotzbrücke (Devil's Gate): Built in 1866 out of basalt, is one of the world’s oldest ‘Devil Bridges’, and is one of the most visited and photographed attractions and is also consistently listed as one of the top attractions to visit in Germany. The gate is located in the Kromlau Rhododendron Park, one of the biggest gardens in Saxony, pristinely kept with a large array of plants, fauna and wildlife.
  • Forest Steam Railway (exclusive for participants to this event only): Ride on the historic Waldeisenbahn, a small historic diesel train that connects the towns in the Kromlau region. These steam locomotives have been running on the narrow-gauge railway again, and the unique landscape of the Muskau Arch can be experienced at a leisurely pace in the specially built passenger carriages.
  • Kromlau Rhododendron Park: One of the biggest English gardens in Saxony, pristinely kept with a large array of plants, fauna and wildlife.
  • Kromlau Castle: Beautiful castle located in Kromlau park, with the castle estimated at over 300 years.
  • Trinitatiskirche (Gablenz): The Tower at the Heavy Mountain, Lookout point across the opencast mining of Tagebau Nochten, ‘Heaven and Hell’ grotto, mermaid pond, and various monuments are also on view.
