We begin with Seville, the heart of Andalusia, and explore nearby gems like Tarifa, Cádiz, and Los Alcornocales. The adventure then carries us east through Córdoba and Granada, before culminating in Cuenca, where we witness the eclipse from the dramatic canyon landscapes — a moment you will remember for a lifetime.

🗺️ WHAT IS THE PLAN?
🛬Day 0 – Arrival in Seville | Meet & Welcome
Arrive in Seville and make your way to the rendezvous point via taxi, train, or airport bus.
Meet your community leader and fellow travelers before transferring to our first accommodation.
We’ll stop at a local market to stock up on essentials, then head into the city for a relaxed welcome evening.
Enjoy dinner, lively streets, and Andalusian ambiance before returning to the accommodation by 11:00 PM.
🏛️Day 1 – Seville | Heart of Andalusia
After breakfast, we dive into Seville’s rich heritage with a guided walking tour.
Explore the breathtaking Real Alcázar of Seville, followed by the historic surroundings of the old town.
After a light lunch, we visit the magnificent Catedral de Sevilla, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world.
Later, we continue to the Basílica de Santa María de la Esperanza Macarena, home to the famed weeping Virgin Mary.
Evening free for dinner, flamenco shows, or riverside strolls along the Guadalquivir.
🚗Day 2 – Road Trip | Los Alcornocales, Tarifa & Cádiz
An early departure takes us south toward Tarifa, with scenic stops in Los Alcornocales Natural Park.
In Tarifa, stand at the southernmost point of mainland Europe, with views across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa.
Continue to Cádiz, the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe.
Enjoy panoramic viewpoints, explore Roman ruins, cathedrals, and charming plazas, and watch the sunset beside a medieval seaside castle.
Return to Seville late evening and prepare for the next leg of our journey.
🕌Day 3 – Córdoba & Granada | Moorish Legacy
After breakfast, we check out and head east toward Córdoba.
Visit the awe-inspiring Mezquita-Catedral, a masterpiece of Islamic and Christian architecture, and explore the historic quarter.
Continue onward to Granada, stopping for panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada before settling into our accommodation.
Evening free to wander Granada’s atmospheric streets.
🥾Day 4 – Granada | Alhambra & Sierra Nevada
Weather permitting, embark on a 7.2 km hike through the dramatic canyons of the Sierra Nevada.
In the afternoon, explore the legendary Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, a highlight of the trip.
Celebrate the evening with a tapas dinner in Granada, soaking in the city’s flamenco soul before returning to rest.
🏞️Day 5 – Journey North | Granada to Cuenca
After breakfast, we depart Granada and travel north toward Cuenca.
En route, stop in Belmonte to admire its medieval castle and stretch your legs.
Arrive in Cuenca, settle into our accommodation, and head out for evening sightseeing and dinner in the old town.
🌘Day 6 – Cuenca | Solar Eclipse Grand Finale
After breakfast, choose between free exploration of Cuenca or optional adventure activities with Reto Aventura (horseback riding, canoeing, canyoning, scuba diving, or caving).
If time allows, visit the surreal rock formations of La Ciudad Encantada.
In the evening, we gather for the highlight of the journey — viewing the Total Solar Eclipse from a spectacular canyon setting.
Celebrate the once-in-a-lifetime moment with a festive dinner and Flamenco show.
✈️Day 7 – Departure | Hasta Pronto
After breakfast, pack up and say farewell.
You may continue your travels independently from Cuenca, take a train to Valencia, or join the group transfer back to Madrid for onward flights.

• Day 0: Travel day from Zurich to Engelberg.
• Day 1: Brunni & Härzlisee Panorama Trails(🥾 Distance: 6–9 km ⛰ Elevation: +250m / -250m).
• Day 2: Four Lakes Hike - 4-Seen-Wanderung(🥾 Distance: 14–17 km ⛰ Elevation: +600m / -800m).
• Day 3: Fürenalp – End of the World Trail(🥾 Distance: 9–10 km ⛰ Elevation: +800m / -800m).

• We explore the beautiful Brunni region with panoramic hiking trails, flower-filled meadows, and peaceful mountain landscapes overlooking Engelberg Valley. Along the route, we visit the scenic Härzlisee area and enjoy stunning viewpoints across the Alps.
• Depending on timing and group preference, we may also explore local cultural spots including the historic Engelberg Abbey or a traditional Swiss alpine wellness experience.

🟢 DAY 2 – FOUR LAKES HIKE ADVENTURE

• Today we experience one of the most spectacular hikes in Central Switzerland — the legendary Four Lakes Hike.
• We hike through breathtaking alpine scenery past crystal-clear mountain lakes, dramatic ridges, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints. This route perfectly captures the beauty of the Swiss Alps in summer.
• Expect unforgettable landscapes, peaceful alpine moments, picnic breaks surrounded by mountains, and some of the best photography opportunities of the trip.

• The trail winds through high alpine meadows, waterfalls, mountain streams, and dramatic cliffs beneath towering peaks. Along the way, we visit a traditional alpine farm where we experience authentic Swiss cheese-making traditions and taste fresh mountain cheese.
• In the evening, we gather together to cook and enjoy classic Swiss Älplermagronen — a traditional alpine comfort dish.

TRIP DETAILS
Start Date and End Date: Wednesday, 19 August 2026 - Monday, 24 August 2026.
Meeting Time and Location: Reykjavík Bus Terminal (BSI Terminal) at 5:30 pm or directly at Accommodation.
Note: Exact Accommodation info will be provided to the confirmed participants closer to the trip date.
Finishing Time and Location: Keflavik International Airport at 3:30 AM on 24 August.
Note:

1. You will need to organize an Airport Shuttle (through Flybus) and get off at BSI Terminal from where we can organize to pick you up (for participants arriving after 5pm on Friday).
2. For early arrivals, if possible we can try to organize an early accommodation check-in.
3. For earlier or later departures, you will need to organize an airport shuttle and we can help you if needed.

Hiking Difficulty: N/A.
Note: We will be driving around 250-350 km on most of the days during this trip.
Other Things of Note:

• Clothing: We will get close to a lot of waterfalls, so please bring waterproof clothes. In general different layers of clothes are advised since weather in Iceland can change quickly. Please bring your swimwear and ideally an extra towel.

Hey everyone! I’m so excited to welcome you to Central Switzerland this summer and show you the true heart of the Vierwaldstättersee region.

Forget the standard postcard views. I’m taking you deeper into the lakes, mountains, and villages to experience Switzerland the way locals actually live it.

By day, we’ll explore scenic lakeside walks, take beautiful boat rides across Lake Lucerne, wander through charming villages like Weggis and Vitznau, ride up iconic mountains like Rigi, and discover hidden corners of Canton Schwyz that most travelers completely miss.

By evening, we’ll slow down with local Swiss food, relaxed lakeside aperitifs, and unforgettable sunsets over the lake and mountains. Think cozy dinners, alpine atmospheres, and laid-back group moments under the stars.

We’re talking crystal-clear lakes, dramatic alpine peaks, peaceful valleys, and scenic cable cars connecting it all together.

🌿WHY COME ALONG WITH ME?
Central Switzerland in summer is pure magic. The Vierwaldstättersee region brings together everything Switzerland is famous for: mountains rising straight from the water, historic villages, and incredibly peaceful nature just minutes away from each other.

I’ve designed this route to go beyond the typical tourist spots and into the quieter, more authentic side of the region. Along the way, we’ll include hidden gems, local traditions, and spontaneous stops that you won’t find in guidebooks.

This journey is perfect for travelers who prefer spending quality time exploring a region rather than rushing from one destination to the next. Instead of constantly changing locations, we take time to truly experience the landscapes, villages, culture, and atmosphere that make Central Switzerland so special.

Picture this: swimming in clear alpine water, walking through quiet forest trails with mountain views, riding historic boats across the lake, and ending each day with golden sunsets and Swiss comfort food.

📍 Meeting Location & Time: Meet directly at the accommodation in Lucerne anytime until latest 7 PM on Wednesday
Note: Exact accommodation details and meeting instructions will be shared with confirmed participants closer to the trip date.
📍 Finishing Location & Time: Lucerne Train Station at approximately 9 AM on Wednesday
Note: If you are arriving earlier or later or have special request, please do let us know and we can make relevant arrangements from our end.

🟢DAY 0 - ARRIVAL IN LUCERNE

• Meet your guide and fellow travelers at accommodation in Lucerne.
• After check-in, we settle in, explore the charming city, and enjoy a relaxed welcome dinner together.
• Overnight in Lucerne.

🟢DAY 1 - LUCERNE DISCOVERY & LAKESIDE INTRODUCTION → WEGGIS ( BOAT JOURNEY)

• Today is all about easing into the rhythm of Central Switzerland and discovering Lucerne at a relaxed pace.
• We explore Lucerne’s historic Old Town, lakeside promenade, and scenic viewpoints overlooking Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. The day is designed to slowly introduce the region’s atmosphere, combining culture, water, and mountain scenery.
• We take time for cafés, local spots, and optional short walks along the lake, with space to simply enjoy the city’s relaxed summer energy.
• Depending on timing and group energy, we may include a surprise local experience, a spontaneous stop at a scenic viewpoint or swimming spot, or simply enjoy some free time in the city.
• In the late afternoon, we continue by boat to Weggis, enjoying one of the most scenic journeys on Lake Lucerne as the mountains rise directly from the water.
• Expect a relaxed mix of culture, lakeside atmosphere, and beautiful first impressions of Central Switzerland.
• Overnight in Weggis.

🟢 DAY 2 - WEGGIS LAKE DAY & SWISS RIVIERA EXPERIENCE

• Today, we enjoy the relaxed lakeside atmosphere of Weggis and the beautiful surroundings of Lake Lucerne.
• After breakfast, we spend the day exploring the calm Riviera-style atmosphere of the village and its lakeside surroundings. We enjoy easy lakeside moments — including a walk along the promenade towards a beautiful hidden spot, a stop at a local café with lake views, time for swimming, and a relaxed picnic by the water.
• Depending on the weather, season, and group energy, we may also visit additional nearby locations, hidden viewpoints, or local spots that make this part of Central Switzerland so special.
• In the evening, we come together for a sunset aperitif surprise at one of my favourite spots, surrounded by mountains and golden light over the lake.
• Expect swimming, café stops, picnic moments, hidden gems, and relaxed summer vibes by Lake Lucerne.
• Overnight in Weggis.

🟢DAY 3 - MOUNT RIGI & ALPINE PICNIC EXPERIENCE + SCHWYZ REGION

• Today, we head into the mountains for a scenic journey into the Rigi region.
• After breakfast, we travel up into the alpine landscape where the focus is on panoramic views, relaxed movement, and enjoying the surroundings rather than physical challenge. We take our time exploring viewpoints and open mountain scenery overlooking the lakes and surrounding peaks.
• During the day, we stop for a relaxed picnic or BBQ in nature, surrounded by wide alpine views and peaceful mountain atmosphere. The experience is slow-paced, with space to simply enjoy the landscape and the moment.
• In the afternoon, we descend back toward the lake region and continue the journey into different parts of Central Switzerland.
• Expect panoramic mountain views, relaxed alpine moments, and a peaceful picnic experience in nature.
• Overnight in Brunnen.

🟢 DAY 4 - HIDDEN SCHWYZ & AUTHENTIC VALLEYS

• Today, we explore the quieter, more traditional side of Central Switzerland.
• We travel through scenic countryside, small villages, and peaceful valleys where local life feels slow and authentic. The focus is on discovering places away from the main tourist routes, with time to experience the landscape, culture, and rural atmosphere of the region.
• During the day, we enjoy relaxed stops along the way — including local viewpoints, small cafés, and optional visits to traditional farms or local producers depending on timing and group energy. The day remains flexible, with space for calm moments in nature and easy movement through the region.
• In the afternoon, we continue through the valley landscapes and return toward the lake region for a relaxed evening.
• Expect authentic Swiss countryside, quiet valleys, and a slow travel day off the main routes.
• Overnight in the lake region.

🟢 DAY 5 - BRUNNEN → FLÜELEN → SEELISBERG PANORAMA

• Today, we continue along the lake and travel into one of the most scenic panoramic regions above Lake Lucerne.
• We start in the Brunnen area and drive along the lakeshore toward Flüelen, enjoying beautiful views of the water and surrounding mountains along the way. From there, we ascend up to Seelisberg, a peaceful viewpoint area overlooking the entire lake region.
• The day includes a relaxed 1–2 hour walk through forest paths and panoramic viewpoints, with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and pause at quiet spots overlooking the lake. There is also time for café stops or small breaks depending on group energy.
• In the afternoon, we continue toward a relaxed lakeside or mountain village setting for the evening.
• Expect scenic lake drives, panoramic viewpoints, and light walking in one of the most beautiful areas of Central Switzerland.
• Overnight in the lake region.

🟢 DAY 6 - BUOCHS, STANS & WATERFALL EXPERIENCES

• We start the day with visits to natural spots such as waterfalls or small swimming areas depending on conditions, where there is time to enjoy the water, take photos, and spend time in nature. The focus is on easy-access nature experiences and scenic surroundings.
• We then continue toward the Buochs and Stans region, experiencing a more local side of lakeside Swiss life. Depending on group energy, we spend time either in Buochs by the lake or in Stans with its small-town charm, cafés, and relaxed atmosphere.
• In the evening, we enjoy a relaxed dinner together and a calm lakeside atmosphere to end the day.
• Expect waterfalls, swimming spots, lakeside relaxation, and authentic Swiss small-town life.
• Overnight in the lake region.

🟢 DAY 7 - RETURN TO LUCERNE / FAREWELL SWITZERLAND

• After breakfast, we check out and begin our journey back to our home.
• With unforgettable lake moments, scenic days, and shared experiences across Central Switzerland, our journey around the Vierwaldstättersee comes to an end.
