Description
World Space Week (October 4-10), a United Nations-declared event, is the largest annual space celebration on Earth. We commemorate the launch of Sputnik-1 (1957) and the signing of the Outer Space Treaty (1967). The 2025 global theme is "Living in Space," focusing on the innovative technologies and human ingenuity required to establish permanent habitats beyond Earth. We celebrate India’s monumental contributions, specifically highlighting the role of ISRO in shaping humanity’s future in space.

The Challenge: Establishing colonies on the Moon or Mars requires solving critical medical and physiological challenges.

Event Agenda:

• Video Screening: We will screen a segment on "Future of Space Medicine" hosted by renowned MIT Engineer and science communicator, Emily Calandrelli, "The Space Gal." Explore groundbreaking innovations from autonomous surgical robots to 3D-printed medical devices, that are essential for deep-space missions and long-duration habitats.
• Collaborative Innovation Challenge (Student Focus)

1. Breakout Teams: Following the screening, attendees will be grouped into collaborative teams.
2. Solution Sprint: Teams will receive a live, on-the-spot question regarding a key challenge in space and will have 10 minutes to formulate and propose an innovative solution.

The teams with the most creative and viable solutions will be featured on our official LinkedIn page and other social media channels.
All participants will receive a professionally designed Certificate of Participation and a digital badge.
