Writing a Book in the Age of AI

Have you thought about writing a book? Or becoming a speaker?

Maybe you've thought about writing a book.
Maybe you've started one. Maybe you've been thinking about it for years. Or maybe people keep telling you, "You should write a book."
And maybe you've thought about speaking too.
How do you take what you know, put it into a book, and then communicate those ideas from a stage?
That's something a lot of people at NSA Austin are working on. So let's get some of those people together.

What We'll Cover
We'll talk about the writing process, what's working, where people are getting stuck, and one of the big questions right now: what role should AI have in writing your book?
Can AI help you organize your ideas? Develop an outline? Work through a rough draft? Help you think? And where does it start taking away from your ideas and your voice?
This session is led by Dori Eversmann, President-Elect of NSA Austin. Dori is working on a book herself and will share what she's learning firsthand, including real examples of how AI can be used during the writing process.
But this isn't just an AI training. It's a chance to sit down with other speakers, authors, and aspiring authors and talk about actually getting the book that's in your head onto the page.
We'll talk about things like:

• Getting started when you've been thinking about a book forever
• Going from an idea to an outline and eventually a manuscript
• What's working for other writers and authors
• Where AI can help, and where maybe it shouldn't
• Keeping your own voice while using AI
• How a book can support your speaking
• How speaking can help get your ideas and your book into the world

And you'll get a chance to meet some of the people at NSA Austin.
You don't need to have a finished book. You don't even need to have started one.
If you've been thinking about writing a book, come. If you've thought about becoming a speaker, come. And if you've thought about both, you definitely should come.
