Hike (and Optional Swim) at Quechee Gorge with Lunch/Ice Cream After, Quechee VT

Hi everyone! I am planning a hike and light swim at Quechee Gorge near Quechee, VT. The hike is an easy 1.4-mile hike with an elevation gain of approximately 154 ft. There are some very scenic views of the Ottauquechee River, Dam, and Waterfalls! The featured photo is one that I took during a previous visit. For those who are interested, we can also go for some light swimming at the bottom of the Gorge. After the hike, we can then grab some ice cream and/or lunch. Dogs are welcomed on the Quechee Gorge trails, but must be kept on a leash.

Please bring/wear the following for this event:
Water (at least 2 bottles)
Shoes (regular shoes or hiking shoes)
Sunblock
Insect Repellent
Swimsuit and towel (for swimming at the Gorge – optional)

Parking for Quechee Gorge is located at 6053 Woodstock Rd, Quechee, VT 05059 or at the adjacent Quechee Gorge Visitor Center at 5966 Woodstock Rd, White River Junction, VT 05001. Though I don’t anticipate parking to be an issue, I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool.

Plan to arrive at Quechee Gorge for 9:30am. When I arrive, I will post a comment in the comments section to confirm my location. We will wait 15 minutes for friends to gather before starting the hike. I have allocated 4 hours for this event, but we will travel at our own pace. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are concerned about the difficulty of this hike. I want friends to feel comfortable and assure that our pace won’t leave anyone behind.
