Thundering Brook Falls and Appalachian Trail Hike in Killington, VT

Hi everyone! I’m planning a hike to Thundering Brook Falls, followed by a hike along a small section of the Appalachian Trail in Killington, Vermont. The hike will be an easy-to-moderate, 3.7-mile hike with an elevation gain of approximately 571 ft. The featured photo is one that I took during a previous visit. There are some very scenic views! Dogs are welcomed at this location, but must be kept on a leash.

Please bring the following gear for this event:
Water (at least 2 bottles)
Hiking Shoes
Insect Repellent
Snacks (as needed)

Parking for Thundering Brook Falls is located in a small, gravel parking lot along River Road Fork: the parking lot address is 2298 River Rd Fork, Killington, VT 05751. If the parking lot is full, additional parking is permitted alongside River Road Fork, but please make sure to park on the side of the road that doesn’t have the “No-Parking” signs. I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool!

Plan to arrive at the parking lot for 8:00am. When I arrive, I will post a comment in the comments section to confirm my location. We will wait 15 minutes for friends to gather before starting the hike. I have allocated 3 hours for this event, but we may finish sooner and will travel at our own pace. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are concerned about the difficulty of this hike. I want friends to feel comfortable and assure that our pace won’t leave anyone behind.
