Hike at Mt. Tom in Woodstock, VT

Hi everyone! I’m planning a hike at Mt. Tom in Woodstock, VT. The hike will be a moderate, 3.8-mile out-and-back hike with an elevation gain of 675 ft. We will be traveling via the Faulkner Trail. The featured photo is one that I took during a previous visit. There are some very scenic views! Dogs are welcomed at this location, but must be kept on a leash.

Please bring the following gear for this event:
Water (at least 3 bottles)
Hiking Shoes
Insect Repellent
Snacks (as needed)

Parking for Mt. Tom is located at Faulkner Park along Mountain Avenue in Woodstock, VT: you will see several pull off spots along Mountain Avenue designated for parking. Please use my provided map pin for driving directions as the AllTrails directions are somewhat ambiguous in terms of parking location(s). I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool.

Plan to arrive at the parking lot for 8:45am. When I arrive, I will post a comment in the comments section to confirm my location. We will wait 15 minutes for friends to gather before starting the hike. I have allocated 3 hours for this event, but we may finish sooner and will travel at our own pace. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you are concerned about the difficulty of this hike. I want friends to feel comfortable and assure that our pace won’t leave anyone behind.
