Late Afternoon Hike, Swim, and Picnic Dinner at Sculptured Rocks; Groton, NH

Hi everyone! I’m planning a late afternoon hike, swim, and picnic dinner at Sculptured Rocks Natural Area in Groton, NH. Sculptured Rocks is well-known for its various rock carvings and sculptures, naturally formed over time by the continuous flow of water and grain. The attraction also has swimming holes! The hike will be an easy 3-mile hike along the river and adjoining trails with an elevation gain of approximately 300 ft. After the hike, we can find a spot and settle down for a swim and dinner. The featured photo is one that I took during a previous visit. There are some very scenic views! Dogs are welcomed at this location, but I recommend that they be kept on a leash.

Parking for Sculptured Rocks Natural Area is located in a spacious, dirt parking lot off of Sculptured Rocks Rd in Groton, NH: the address is 251 Sculptured Rocks Rd, Groton, NH 03241. Although the parking lot is spacious, I cannot guarantee that there will be enough parking spaces and for those bringing guests, please carpool.

Plan to arrive at the parking lot for 3:30pm. When I arrive, I will post a comment in the comments section to confirm my location. We will wait 15 minutes for friends to gather before starting the walk. I have allocated 3 hours for this event, but we will go at our own pace.
