Welcome to our first UX Learn & Meet!
Speaker Matt Bernius will present his paper on Trauma Informed Research and Design Methods followed by discussion and Q&A (30 mins - updated 10/20/2022).
This talk will explore what trauma is, how and why it can show up in the course of qualitative research and UX work, and share frameworks to make our work safer for all involved.
After the presentation, head downstairs to Bar Bantam for conversation and drinks!

Matt Bernius is a design anthropologist and experience strategist. He is currently a Principal Qualitative Researcher at Code for America, a non-partisan organization founded to address the widening gap between the public and private sectors in their effective use of technology and design. Across his career, Matt has helped a wide range of clients, including Autodesk, Boeing, Google, Honeywell, Mozilla, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, better understand their customers and employees through a wide range of research projects
