What we’re about
This group exists to bring together people who are philosophically inclined, intellectually curious, and interested in discussion, in a forum local to Uptown.
We welcome anyone from those with encyclopedic knowledge of philosophy to those who barely know what the word means. The group is for like minded people to meet and engage in discussion, if that sounds interesting, this group is for you!
The plan is to have regular meetings for people to hang out and occasionally more directed subject themed events.

Meno I do, and I think I understand what you mean.
Socrates Further, you call something a plane, and something else a solid, as in geometry?
Meno I do.
Socrates From this you may understand what I mean by shape, for I say this of every shape, that a shape is that which limits a solid; in a word, a shape is the limit of a solid.***
In Plato's dialogues, Socrates inquires about definitions with his interlocuters. He ultimately sought for truth, but investigated definitions in order to express truth. Thus, this session will focus on definitions and their philosophical significance.
