Details

Come to the Coast! Fort Columbia Historical State Park is a 618 acre park featuring both history and beauty. The fort was built on a hillside and offers expansive views of the Columbia River estuaries, meadows, and a heavily wooded hillside with 2.2 mi of hiking trails and 6,400 ft of Columbia River shoreline. Built originally for coastal defense, The Fort features gun batteries, historic buildings and interpretive panels on how the fort once operated from 1896-1947. It is considered one of the most intact coastal defense forts on the West Coast and has been designated a national historic landmark. Visiting the park is free with the Discover Pass, or $10 entry.
