Rose Gardens and Pittock Mansion, flowers in full bloom, hike

If you are staying in town please join me on this five mile hike, mostly on trails. We will enjoy the roses in full bloom at the Rose Gardens and at Pittock Mansion along the way. Starting from Chapman School/Wallace Park near 23rd street in NW Portland, we will hike up to the Rose Gardens, then at an overlook take in nice views of the Japanese Gardens and up to Hoyt Arboretum. After lunch we will pass by the Bamboo groves to Pittock Mansion. From there, down along Batch Creek and back to Wallace Park. Very nice restrooms at three places along the way and where we start. Much of the hike will be under shade..
Bring a lunch and drink to enjoy at Hoyt Arboretum visitor center. Meet by the baseball filed bleachers at Wallace Park. Parking free by the park or in the neighborhood north of 25th street.
