Have Pasty, Will Travel

Details
The last time I had a Cornish pasty, a small, savory pie with a crimped edge, I was hanging at an outdoor London café on a surprisingly mild, sunny November afternoon. Will the Cornish Pasty Co in Boston’s Back Bay equal that experience? It may or may not, but no jet lag and close encounters with the TSA required.
The Cornish Pasty Co, which also has locations in Arizona and Las Vegas, set up shop on Massachusetts Avenue in 2016. Their web site provides a short account of the pasty’s journey from Cornwall to Michigan mining country to today’s modern interpretations of this humble British favorite: https://www.cornishpastycoboston.com/history-of-the-pasty/
Here’s what the UK’s Cornish Pasty Association had to say of the traditional pasty: http://www.cornishpastyassociation.co.uk/about-the-pasty/. Not sure how to pronounce pasty? Say the word “past”, then add a quick “ee” at the end. Check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HaJGgVt3B4

The Cornish Pasty Co is on the west side Massachusetts Avenue between Commonwealth and Marlborough streets. The Hynes Auditorium Green line T stop is just a few blocks away, while the #1 bus goes right by. If you must drive, I suggest springing for a parking lot.
