Get Your Hands Salty – Fermenting Urban Herbs & Veggies

Join this practical, hands-on workshop and learn how to ferment vegetables and herbs using lacto-fermentation — a simple, ancient technique that supports gut health, mental wellbeing, and overall resilience.

We’ll work with local, seasonal vegetables and herbs, exploring how fermentation transforms flavour, texture, and nutritional value. You’ll learn how the process works, how to do it safely at home, and how fermented foods help reconnect us with the land we live on.

Each participant will:

  • Make their own jar of fermented vegetables to take home
  • Learn the fundamentals of safe, repeatable lacto-fermentation
  • Taste a range of different ferments (including kombucha and grain ferments)
  • Receive clear instructions so you can confidently ferment at home

This workshop is action-oriented, sensory, and grounded — no prior experience needed.
