What we’re about
Urban Night Walking is exactly what it sounds like. Intentionally missing the last train out of a major urban center, then walking around the city until the trains are active again.
I am hoping to meet anyone who is willing to do something like this. I don’t really expect anyone to join this group. It’s just my way of meeting others in an international environment.
What is required of you:
-Be able to walk nearly all night with minimal discomfort.
-Be able to keep a positive attitude throughout the night
-Be willing to stay up all night
-Be able to speak English fluently (My Italian is terrible)
Expected Questions:
Why? Great Question.
This is something I personally do, but it’s quite boring doing it alone. I would prefer to find like-minded individuals who are willing to do the same thing.
How long will the walks be?
Nearly all night. It’s highly contextual, and I am willing to negotiate to meet others needs. However, expect distances between 15-30km or more.
Will it be safe?
Yes, I will plan these trips to be as safe as possible. However, I am not from Europe and know only what the internet can tell me. If you believe something is unsafe, then bring it up and plans will be adjusted.
What else should I expect?
Despite walking all night, you should expect deep conversations and a reflective atmosphere.
Dynamic Contextual Events: While the main focus is urban night walking, I am willing to step outside that bubble. I will host other events during daylight hours that are more accessible. I’m also open to ideas, so feel free to share anything you have.
About the Organizer: I am a 22 year old American residing in Italy for the next 4 years. I am fairly introspective and have an insatiable curiosity about the world. I enjoy multiple genres of music, ranging from extreme to gentle. Despite that, I usually like others learning about me rather than telling them about myself.
If you have any questions, you are free to contact me.
