Yearning for good news?

Last Tuesday, Karen and Madeline*, 2 TBM's**, veterans from the Elizabeth Line, set off on the 7 km journey from Old Oak Common to Euston.

Yes! HS2 will get to London! Surprisingly soon!

(pictured: a 1 km long aerial conveyor crosses the Grand Union Canal in Park Royal, carrying the--uncontaminated, and therefore, valuable--tunnel spoil to the Willesden Logistics Hub, for onward despatch, by rail, and re-use.)

Around the new station at Old Oak Common is planned a new extension of London, called Old Oak Park Royal.

They're saying it'll be the 'Canary Wharf of the West'!

And it's got a canal, the Grand Union, largely unspoilt, running all the way through it.

Currently, it's not glamorous: distribution depots, sorting offices, factories, warehouses and breweries, and multiple railway lines, at London's doorstep for goods to and from Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester.

The extension will upgrade and diversify this, the UK's 'largest business park'.

Let's see it before that happens.

We'll meet at noon on Saturday March 1st at Stonebridge Park Station, and walk along the canal all the way to Old Oak Common, then across Wormwood Scrubs, and to 'The Hoxton Hotel' at Shepherd's Bush, where a table will be ready!

Hope you can come!
