Sunday Gathering: Embracing the Darkness, Welcoming the Light

On the shortest day of the year, we honour the ancient rhythm of darkness and light. The Pagan observance of winter solstice reminds us that even at the coldest time of year, the turning has already begun. We celebrate this cosmic promise of renewal, the quiet peace that this time of dormancy holds, and the hope that sustains us through winter's depths. Lindsay River is a long-time member of New Unity, and has been a pagan since 1975. She has followed different spiritual paths within that broad umbrella, taught workshops and classes, and trained individual seekers. In November 2025, she was initiated into the Anglesey Druid Order.
