SQL on Hadoop Landscape

For the first U-CHUG of the school year Dan Hancock from IBM will cover the SQL on Hadoop landscape, including open source and vendor SQL-based options. You will learn how to leverage your existing reporting and business intelligence tools. We will also discuss how to avoid vendor lock-in as it relates to SQL on Hadoop offerings available in the market.

Bio: Dan Hancock is an Executive Information Technology Specialist for IBM's North America Industrial Top Team. Dan assists customers with Big Data solutions in the cloud, on-premise or hybrid. He has worked in information technology covering various industries over eighteen years helping customers with Big Data architectures (relational or non-relational) in the cloud, on-premise and/or hybrid. Dan works with customers using a consultative approach in the use of Hadoop and MPP data warehousing platforms to solve analytical problems.
