What we’re about
Propelling ideas forward — that's the Urban Engine mantra, its raison d'exister. We are a Huntsville, AL - based 501(c)(3) non-profit on mission to propel the growth of North Alabama’s economy. Our programs accelerate STEAM innovation, connect aspiring entrepreneurs and established business leadership with educational resources, talent, and community, and provide a platform for professional development unique to the state. Our three signature products are CoWorking Night, 32/10, and openHuntsville.
• CoWorking Night has become a weekly mini-conference with lots of different hosts organizing workshops for a broad range of activities: writing, coding, design, hardware, art, entrepreneurship, etc. Bring your laptop and use our workspace to work on side projects or startups, or come meet people and sharpen your skills. • 32/10 is an innovation education event series that promotes learning through discussion. Twice monthly, professionals meet to hear the founding stories of tech startups through case study presentations or founder stories told through fireside-chat style interviews. • openHuntsville is a digital directory of Urban Engine's's individual and corporate members. The app is built by volunteers and designed as a local resource for connecting area freelancers, moonlighters and consultants to work opportunities through networking. Join at: openHuntsville.com
