Water Taxi from Downtown and Hike (2 miles, another 2 optional) to Alki Beach

Details

Trying something new now that the water taxi allows dogs! We'll meet at the Downtown Seattle terminal at Pier 50 by 11:15 to catch the 11:30 departure.

From there, if people are hungry, we can stop at Marination that's right at the West Seattle terminal, or start our 2-mile hike along the water and up to the beach and boardwalk. Once there, there are a number of dog-friendly places to stop and relax and get some food and drinks including Blue Moon, West Seattle Brewery, and Locust Cider.

I don't really have a gauge on how long the group walk might take or that we might want to stay up in the beach area. The water taxi goes back to downtown Seattle every hour on the hour until 7pm, and there's a free bus that frequently shuttles back to the dock from where we'll be in case you or your dog aren't up for another 2 miles.

The water taxi fare is $5.75 each way and only $5 each way if you use your ORCA card.

I did this trip with my dog this past weekend and it was a lot of fun, and should be good to do with a group of dogs. Hope some of you can make it and probably introduce your dog to some very new things!
