Can Buddhist practice become part of ordinary life—our work, relationships, illness, conflicts, and everyday challenges?

Join us in Seoul for a special Dharma talk with Master YongHua, an American Mahayana Buddhist teacher and the founder of Bodhi Light International.
This talk draws from the Vimalakirti Sutra, one of the most influential Mahayana Buddhist scriptures. Its central figure, Vimalakirti, is not a monk but an accomplished lay practitioner who follows the Bodhisattva path while living in society.
Through Vimalakirti’s story, the sutra explores a deeply practical question:
How can we cultivate wisdom and help others without separating spiritual practice from everyday life?

The Vimalakirti Sutra addresses illness, relationships, attachment, compassion, skillful means, and non-duality. Its teachings suggest that the challenges of ordinary life do not have to be obstacles to practice—they can become part of the Bodhisattva path itself.

Master YongHua is known for presenting traditional Mahayana Buddhist teachings in a direct and practical way. Before becoming a Buddhist monk, he studied mathematics at the University of Minnesota, earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, and worked in the corporate world. After meeting Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, he entered monastic life in 1995.
He now teaches Chan meditation, Pure Land practice, and Mahayana Buddhism to an international community of monastics and lay practitioners.

This is a rare opportunity to hear Master YongHua teach in person during his visit to Korea.

No previous knowledge of Buddhism or the Vimalakirti Sutra is required. Anyone interested in meditation, Buddhist philosophy, spiritual practice, or living with greater wisdom and compassion is welcome.
