City Island Yacht Club Free Monday Night Sailing

Based on the success of last season's August pilot program, City Island Yacht Club is once again providing Monday Night Sailing, a wonderful opportunity for Meetup members to sail at no cost. Your RSVP will be confirmed by a $10 voucher redeemable at the pub/restaurant for food and drink. This is non-refundable, but can be used at a future date in case of cancellation of either party. We will be capping the Meetup number at 30, with up to 10 boats participating, and I anticipate a waiting list. Last year we were full every Monday night.

Participating boats are primarily private vessels with two CIYC Club Boats, and the Skippers are looking forward to meeting new people and finding new crew to sail with. In case of cancellation due to weather, we will have ASA instructors, movies, and other activities going on at the Club. People can post on Meetup to ride share to and from the Club.

No experience is necessary. This will be an interactive sail so you will be required to assist in sailing the vessel. Non-swimmers will be required to wear a PFD provided by the Skipper. An information sheet and signed waiver will be required before boarding. Skippers have final say on the operation of their vessel.

Boat shoes/sneakers with non-marking soles are a must. No sandals or flip flops. Please bring a bottle of water, no glass, sunglasses, windbreaker, dressing in layers, and rain gear is recommended. Sailing will be cancelled based on weather conditions at 3 pm or on the dock. Pub will be open at from 4 pm on.
