OK. You've learned R in class. You use it once in a while to run an
analysis or make a figure for a paper. Is that all? From kelp forests
to coronavirus, Join Jarrett Byrnes, Associate Professor in Biology at
UMass Boston, to talk about how his journey in Data Science has
fundamentally changed the kinds of science he does. He’ll also discuss
some new directions in how he's using data science in R to build
knowledge. Rather than just a tool for every now and again, he'll talk
about how data science in R has become a useful part of his very
existence.

And, yes, this is an informal discussion/seminar for some good stories
of how he learned to stop worrying and embrace R. And how you can,
too!

Speaker: Dr. Jarrett Byrnes, Assistant Professor of Biology - Marine Ecology, UMass Boston
