Philosophy & Science Cafe
Details
## What is a Philosophy Cafe?
This is a group conversation led by Useful Philosophy and stE=mc^2 Science Cafe, designed to help you spot the weaknesses in your own certainties. It is low pressure, high clarity, and strictly "No Guru". We live in times of "winning" arguments, where we lose finding truth and understanding.
If you are tired of shouting matches and looking for a space to actually think out loud, join our Philosophy Cafe for an afternoon of philosophical conversations.
Bring in your questions to philosophize with the group! We put them to vote and select the most popular question to discuss in the session.
We are ditching spiritual cliches and shallow mantras to dive into the dilemmas of modern life. Whether you are curious about why you believe what you believe or just want to enjoy an afternoon of interesting conversations over coffee, this is your ‘third space’ for clarity.
This isn't a book club. You don't need to have read a single page of Plato to join. As a group, we will use Socratic questioning to peel back the layers of the topic at hand.
What we won't do:
❌ Listen to long rambles
❌ Debate for the sake of "winning"
❌ Speak in academic jargon
What we will do:
✅ Ask good questions
✅ Challenge the "obvious"
✅ Drink good coffee
## What's new:
- Theme for session: Philosophy of Science
(Example Qs: What makes Science different from non-science? Can all sciences eventually be reduced to laws of Physics? What do we mean by "law of nature"?, etc) - Collaboration with: Madhuri Katti of stE=mc^2 Science Cafe
- Early RSVP open for members on the Whatsapp broadcast list to prioritize spots for regulars
