UXA Radio Hour - Recognising and validating assumptions to reduce risk

Details

Design assumptions are beliefs that the product or service team holds about their users, their users’ goals, and/or their users’ contexts of use. So, how do we recognise the assumptions we're making and whether or not they need to be validated or disproved to reduce development and delivery risks? How do we prioritise which assumptions to validate first? And, how do we reframe our beliefs as testable hypotheses to encourage directed learning?

Welcome back to another UXA Radio Hour with Geoff and Stef where we get into discussing actual user research tips and tricks to help teams reduce the risk of delivering unwanted and unusable things - coming back to you over the air again in this second week of Lockdown Round 2 as we review how we've tackled assumptions and hypotheses in the past.
