Hey Everyone,
For our first meetup, we'll try a “Hackers for Good” event. We are collaborating with Francesco Bertocci, who is also running the "Prototyping User Experiences" meetup so you can RSVP here or on their event page (https://www.meetup.com/Prototyping-User-Experiences-NYC-Meetup/events/229440317/).
The idea is to have a “brief” with the goal to solve a real world problem – for this event, it could be Save The Children or NYC City Harvest.
You’ll have approximately 2 hours to:
- Design and build a prototype that “tells” your way to solve the problem. (You can choose any any prototyping tool you like from InVision, to Principle for Mac or Pixate, etc.)
You need to bring a laptop and be ready to prototype.
Participants will be able to work individually or in a team of 2-4 people.
After completing the prototypes, you’ll have 3-5 minutes to present your work, if you’d like feedback.
The “winners” and “honorable mentions” will be picked by a panel (TBD) and / or popular vote.
Prizes for this mini hackathon are “good karma” in various sizes ;)
If we have a sponsor by the time of the event we might have a real prize as well, but cannot promise that yet.
We will be helping with any prototyping questions you might have.
Look forward to seeing you soon!
