About us
Let's meet once a week and talk about how we are using AI to build small businesses. In starting this group, I'm inspired both by my own successful use of AI in creating books/journals of art and writing about ancient Zen and Taoist poetry, and by an article I read this morning:
After a highly profitable year, Square lays off almost half its workforce:
“Intelligence tools have changed what it means to build and run a company,” Dorsey wrote. “We're already seeing it internally. A significantly smaller team, using the tools we're building, can do more and do it better. And intelligence tool capabilities are compounding faster every week.”
“I think most companies are late,” he wrote. “Within the next year, I believe the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion and make similar structural changes. . . We believe Block will be significantly more valuable as a smaller, faster, intelligence-native company. Everything we do from here is in service of that."

I want to meet once a week with a group of small business people who are or want to effectively apply AI to their business and exchange ideas on what's working and what isn't.
The Rundown AI has a daily article:
Every newsletter, we showcase how a reader is using AI to work smarter, save time, or make life easier.
Today’s workflow comes from reader Adam P. in England:
"We're two part-timers, plus me, a founder of 30 years. We were losing ground to bigger competitors with big marketing teams. Our SEO had stalled, business was flat.
We fed our web data and competitor information into AI. It ran SWOT comparisons, highlighted content gaps, and showed where we were being outranked. We used it to restructure our website and tighten our CRM workflows. Traffic is now growing again. Enquiries are stronger. We’re back in expansion mode."
I want to limit attendance to eight people (not the group size but the attendance at any particular meeting) in order to encourage meaningful dialogue. To accomplish that, I'm going to screen people who want to join. If you'd like to join us tell me something either about how you are using AI now, or why you'd like to and how much time and thought you are willing to put into it. Or both.
Also let me know if you'd rather have a potluck dinner or a meeting with snacks or no food. I'd personally prefer a dinner but am completely open.
