The Direct Map to Hardware

Details
In talks on C++, Bjarne Stroustrup talks about how C++ has a direct map to the underlying hardware as one of the reasons why C++ is efficient. Most modern programming courses start off with languages like C#, Java or Python where this idea of the underlying hardware is obscured if not completely hidden from view.
This month, Richard Thomson will present a view of the hardware and how this relates to various constructs in C++. This will include some historical perspective on the hardware that influenced the design of C and C++: the PDP-11 minicomputer.
Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP so we have an accurate head count for the food.
Dinner sponsored by Apremis Technology Placement (http://apremis.com/). Thanks, Apremis!
