This month, Richard Thomson will discuss how to get started from ground-zero with C++. Some of the items discussed will be:
What is the execution model of a C++ program? What are the mechanics of how a C++ program is constructed? What integrated development environment (IDE) choices are there? The C++ language and its standard library covers a lot of ground. How do you best navigate your way through this to learn as you go? What's a good online reference for the language and library? How do I leverage open source libraries for C++? Where can I find collective wisdom from experts? Where can I get help from the community when I get stuck? As much as possible, we will explore these options through group programming.
