Bison Roundup at Antelope Island 𦬠Watch 800 Wild Bison Thunder Into the Corral
They will have a food trucks there
Description:
Nearly 800 wild bison. Hundreds of horseback riders. One of the last true Western spectacles left, and it's right in our backyard!
Every fall, riders sweep Antelope Island and drive one of the nation's oldest public bison herds north into the corrals for their annual health checks. We'll grab a spot at the White Rock Bay viewing area to catch the final push into the corrals. There will be food for purchase, vendor booths, and educational exhibits while we wait.
š TIMING
Riders head out at 9 a.m. from Fielding Garr Ranch. The herd usually reaches the corrals between noon and 3 p.m., but these are wild animals and they set the schedule, so plan to hang out a while.
šµ COST
Free to watch, no registration needed. Standard park entry fee applies, so carpooling saves money.
š WHAT TO BRING
- Camp chair or blanket
- Layers (it's windy on the island)
- Sunscreen and water
- Binoculars or a camera with zoom
- Snacks or cash for food vendors
