Utah Indie Game Jam 2024

Okay everyone I can finally "officially" announce our Utah Indie Game Jam on Nov 22-24th. Game Grid in Lehi is hosting the event this year and they have plenty of space for people to work. However we'll have to do our kickoff meeting online, as they host a large MTG tournament there every Friday. But we'll have the space Sat and Sun (except overnight). A big thanks goes out to them for hosting this event! Their address is 400 Millpond Dr #F, Lehi, UT 84043.

We will start the opening ceremonies at 7pm on Friday in our Discord in the Assembly Hall channel. In that meeting we'll discuss the rules and announce the theme.If you're not already part of the UtahGameDev Discord, you can sign up for it on this page https://discord.gg/WSQ5nJ3gvH.

The judging and presentations will be held at Game Grid (Sunday at 5pm). It will also be streamed in Discord also for remote participants. We will have 3D printed awards for the winners (and maybe some prizes also, stay tuned). This is a competitive game jam, but a spirit of community and sportsmanship is encouraged. This is a chance to make what you want and to polish your skills and take them to the next level. Feel free to invite your friends to make a team or go solo if you want!

This is a free event, but you'll be on your own for your meals at the event. There are a number of restaurants and stores nearby, but you are welcome to bring outside food and snacks into the event. There will be wireless internet available during the jam, but please note that there will be no "wired internet" available. So please bring any wireless WiFi adapters that you may need. We should have plenty of tables and chairs available for people to use. Also, you may want to bring headphones, snacks, caffeine and any thing else you may need to survive a weekend of crazy game making.
