Biotech Night - Utah Bio Collective

Details
Join us for a night of bio-crafts, biotechnology company showcases, and light refreshments while learning about the local community biotech lab we're planning! There'll be different things to interact with like bioplastics, mycelium materials, bioluminescent algae, and AI for biotech demos. Learn more about biotechnology, what you can do with it, how to get into the field, and meet fellow biotech enthusiasts. The event is family friendly and kids are invited! Free parking available onsite.
We're hoping to grow the local biotech community and help people do cool projects! Whether it's creating glow in the dark plants or microbes for bio-cement, we want to provide a place where people can learn about biotechnology, work on their own projects, and meet others with similar interests.
What is biotechnology?
According to Biotechnology Innovation Organization,"biotechnology is technology based on biology - biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies and products that help improve our lives and the health of our planet." Examples include mass-produced human insulin with engineered E. coli and using microbes to grow milk proteins without cows, to engineering crops to have higher yield and lab-grown meat. There are so many things you can do with biotechnology.
