UBC discuss A Door Into Ocean
Details
In response to world events, the theme of our April book group is pacifism.
Pacifism may be a utopian ideal, but are enduring pacifist worlds possible, and what happens when a pacifist state is intruded upon by an aggressor? Can the pacifists ever win?
Our book choice, A Door Into Ocean by Joan Slonczewski, imagines just that - a pacifist society that manages to resist violent colonisers.
The book is on the longer side so give yourself time to read it... and/or, come and share about any other pacifist books/stories/essays/articles you have read.
