Honest, compelling improvised scenes

Want to create scenes that feel real? In Take The Floor, we focus on character-driven improvisation inspired by the famous Dutch TV format De Vloer Op. Instead of fast-paced games or searching for the perfect punchline, you’ll step into scenes built around relationships, emotions, dilemmas, and human behaviour.
Every class starts with a short scene assignment: two characters, a relationship, a situation, or a secret. From there, it’s up to you and your scene partner to discover what happens next. You’ll learn to trust the silence, make strong choices, and let the scene develop naturally instead of rushing towards a joke or a clever ending.

Location: Buurtcentrum Rosa, Malakkastraat 6 Utrecht. Room 3.
Schedule: Mondays 20:00-22:00. Starting 5 Oct 2026
Nine sessions in total, consisting of eight lessons and one show.

About the trainer

Matthijs studied Media Studies. He has his own studio in wolvenplein to record podcasts, voice overs, coaching people on voice acting, podcasts, media. He plays in Pure Chocolade, and trains different groups, special workshops. He enjoys teaching special themes and formats.
