Details

We are happy and proud to announce our next meetup!

This time we have two Java Champions on stage. In his session Mohammed Aboullaite (Senior Backend Developer @ Spotify) will cover the fundamentals of eBPF,its internals and core architecture.

In the second session, Eric Deandrea (Senior Principal Developer Advocate @ Red Hat) will show concepts and conventions familiar to Spring developers and how those same concepts and conventions can be implemented in Quarkus

The meetup will be hosted by Sopra Steria, Ringwade 1, Nieuwegein.

Please join us and RSVP!

Because of the limited number of seats, please keep your RSVP up-to-date, so we can welcome someone else of you can't make it.

Talks

Into the hive op eBPF!

The buzz around eBPF is growing quickly and it is rising as an essential component for observability, security, tracing and networking within the cloud native ecosystem. In fact, it is changing the way we think about operating systems by opening the doors to fully customize the Linux kernel as a platform.

In this session, we will cover the fundamentals of eBPF,its internals and core architecture. We will also delve into building real world examples and how developers can benefit from getting an inside look into their applications without code instrumentation, getting traces, analyzing the performance and identifying possibilities to improve using eBPF.

We will also cover eBPF's benefits for cloud-native environments, highlighting its expanding landscape allowing to harness eBPF power and unlock its potential.

This session will cover:
- What is ebPF, its core architecture?
- How does eBPF work?
- building and running different ebpf demo programs
- eBPF in cloud native and its growing ecosystem
- Demo of monitoring, tracing, performance optimisation in k8s cluster.
- Advantages vs disadvantages of ebpf

Quarkus for Spring Developers

In this session, Eric will show concepts and conventions familiar to Spring developers and how those same concepts and conventions can be implemented in Quarkus, all while highlighting similarities and differences between them. Additionally, he will show similarities and differences in how testing is done, highlighting Quarkus Dev Services.

This session will be mostly live coding while minimizing the amount of slides. Eric will introduce an existing Spring application with a full test suite and build a Quarkus equivalent version of it, live.
