Filmmaker Peter Kerekes describes himself as a Hungarian with a long-cherished dream of making an “Italian” film. Wishing On A Star interweaves playful fiction, with a touch of magical realism, with the spontaneous character of a documentary. The result is an engaging film in which the characters traverse the world in search of happiness, while fate leads them down unexpected paths.
