What we’re about
Ours is an inclusive, welcoming group at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Winston-Salem. There is no cost to join, it’s open to everyone, and all ages and levels of experience are welcome.
We plan and host educational events on the climate crisis and related sustainability issues. We also plan outings that can range anywhere from a simple stroll down the greenway, to biking short sections of the Virginia Creeper Trail, kayaking local rivers or simply checking out edible plants on a short nature walk.
Suggestions are happily accepted. Come with us and enjoy the fresh air, nature at its finest, AND learn about our amazing planet along the way.

"They're Trying to Kill Us" is a 2021 documentary that explores the intersections of food injustice, race, and health disparities significantly Systemic racism within the food industry significantly contributes to Food Injustice and health disparities in marginalized communities and how it affects communities of color.
We previously showed this documentary at Parkway United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist and Temple Emanuel, where the audiences asked us to continue to show this documentary to the community. So we are showing it again.
We, Parkway United Church of Christ, Temple Emanuel Environmental Movement and Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are happy to announce that Green Street Methodist will be collaborating with us for the 2026 MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL FILM/SPEAKER SERIES in the hosting of these films.

FILM: ROWDY GIRLS SANCTUARY
Temple Emanuel, 201 Oakwood Drive, Winston-Salem, NC, USPLEASE JOIN US FOR A SCREENING OF ROWDY GIRLS SANCTUARY
# Unable to come to terms with the cruel reality of animal agriculture, a former Texas cattle rancher goes vegan and transforms her husband’s beef operation into a farmed animal sanctuary. When their story goes viral, she realizes her true calling: to help farmers transition to plant-based and end their business of animal agriculture.
“Rowdy Girl” showcases the inspiring work of an animal activist who has been on both sides and proves that there is a common ground between farmers and vegans – a shared mission of compassion and sustainability.
