Voice First: Beyond The Hype -- Part II
In out last Meetup gathering, we scratched the surface of "going beyond the hype" on Voice First and began tackling the question: which lessons learned from recent tech disruptions can we use to avoid making mistakes that were, in hindsight, avoidable. For more details on the topic we tackled, please visit this: https://www.meetup.com/uvs-dc/events/247682126/ We will continue with that conversation and dive deeper, with the aim of coming away with concrete takeaways that we can act upon and report back when we meet again. What we're about

Voice -- the most natural of all interfaces -- is going to play a major role in how humans interact with the increasing intelligence around them. Siri kicked off the emergence of voice on October 4th, 2011, followed by Google Voice and later Microsoft's Cortana and Samsung Bixby. Beyond the speaking smartphone, we have also seen the emergence of new, and even more compelling form factors, such as the Amazon Echo, Google Home, and Microsoft Cortana on Harman Kardon's Invoke speaker.

This working group Meetup gathers professionals, students, academics, enthusiasts, and anyone interested in the dawning of Ubiquitous Voice. Our goal is to share information with and learn from one another, start and build relationships, and engage in activities that promote the mission of making voice a meaningful, life enhancing interface.
