Drawing users in: UX meets Illustration



About the talk (Englisch):
A floppy disk has not sat in a drawer for twenty years. It still means save. Icons keep working long after the objects behind them disappear, until the day they lose meaning. In this talk, I will trace how visual language in interfaces is built, learned, or lost, and how this gap opens an exciting opportunity to reinvent existing concepts. Through the MyHelvetia application case study, we will explore how UX designers can translate ideas into imagery without losing sight of the two things every visual element connects a user to: what the product does, and what values it stands for.

About the speaker:
Marta Carrer is a UX Designer at YOO AG in Basel, Switzerland. With a background as a graphic designer in Italy, she now works across data-driven business applications and illustration for digital products, focusing on how visual language carries meaning in interfaces.
