We are back after a short summer break and excited to host you at our ninth Evenings at the Loft speaker design series on Friday, August 21.
Our central theme is on the Design Processes of Drones and Robotics.
Our speakers are from diverse backgrounds and are working on some of the most cutting edge projects:
Alaric Paiva is a Mechanical Engineer with a flair for Industrial Design. He develops airframes for UAV's (drones), with the sole purpose of breaking new ground in design and performance. He is one of the only UAV designers in SoCal who makes all of his own UAV parts from raw materials and his design processes happen in the air instead of on paper.
Biayna Bogosian, is the Co-Founder and Principal Designer of Somewhere Something, working at the intersection of art, architecture, computation, fabrication and education. Additionally, they provide computational design consultation and teach the necessary technological skills to design firms .
Jarred Shier is an Architect and Associate at Gensler In 2013 he launched a research project to develop an entirely mobile 3D printing platform. He is working on a proof of concept that can generate objects of any size in remote locations. His project has been featured by KCRW, the BBC, Architect Magazine and at SXSW.
